Busy Work

Some of those classes you enter at the beginning of the semester just give you the feeling like there will be a good amount of busy work. I don't know how others feel about this but my thoughts go like this; students learn by doing I understand this but what I don't get is the reason for so much work on the same topic. Once I do the practice maybe two to three times I fully understand how to successfully complete the task at hand. I will also then remember how to complete this for a decent amount of time unless I do not do this for maybe a year and then eventually I will forget the process. Some of the assignments take a lot of my time and I have other classes that need time as well. If you are feeling the same way let me know you thoughts.

Shot- gun snap

The shot gun snap is a very critical part to the offensive side of the ball. Without the snap the quarterback who distributes the ball to a skills position, either a wide reciever, tight end, or running back will be unable to do so. The four critical elements are very easy. Starting with the legs shoulder width apart, knees bent slightly over the feet, dominant hand on the football out infront of you, and finnaly the snap must be accurate with the correct amount of speed. The speed should not be too fast to were the person is unable to catch it, but fast enough so that the ball gets back their for the quarterback to go through the proper reads.

Outdoor Physical Activity

Incorporating outdoor physical activity into the ciriculumn will give the students a different surround environment and get students excited for new material. Using the outdoors will relieve stress of the students along with a peaceful, enjoyable time with there fellow classmates. The amount of physical activity one would exert during a normal easy hiking pace would be really beneficial to anyones health. The outdoor terrain isn't a steady flat ground or all uphill it goes through all types to give the body different obsticles. Along with the great physical part of the hike I know I feel along with some that it is a great time to be outside with your friends and this will leave an impression on your students. They will remember the time they went on a hiking trip in your class and might give the students a new hobby that they will do outside of the class.

Spending Extra Money For What?

For a recent class added to my already hectic schedule we needed to buy an outfit to look professional. This outfit was bought at a local shop in the area and was a waste of money I feel. This outfit was a collared shirt and pants with a coat that I already have plenty of. The amount of money spent on this was 100$ and to me that was more money than needed. I could have used a shirt I already have in the closet without spending any more money. I understand we need to look professional while teaching, but just tell us to wear appropriate clothes and we will listen. There is no need to make us all wear the same shirt pants and coat to look professional for 100$. The clothes bought were a cheap off brand where i could have bought a better nicer name brand line for around the same money.

Butter vs. I can't believe it isn't butter spray

I remember when this idea was a hot item on commercials and with the media. How this spray butter is so much more healthy for people to use on their food instead of the sticks of butter. My mother even bought a bottle of this spray butter to try and I thought it was nothing to rave about. My feelings are if you can be reasonable and use it sparingly nothing will that bad for you. It goes with eating within moderation, I would go for taste rather than some nasty spray butter. Nothing will not be that bad for you if you use it in moderation. The only thing that was good about the spray on was that it was in a bottle and easy to apply, but in the long run i heard the spray butter actually wasn't as healthy as they say. So if you are cooking or buttering your bread use the real deal with moderation rather than the untasty spray on.

Physically profficiant

During some of the classes we take in the semester there are a few students who I notice can not complete some of the critical elements. I feel if you are going to have to teach students why it is important to be able to complete the task in hand the teacher themselves should be also be able to do so. Some of the students in my class are unable to simply serve the volleyball over the net or complete a normal hit over to the other side during game play. Students will notice you are unable to o so and question the authority and wonder why they have to if you can't.

College general education classes

I feel that it is not necessary for colleges to make such high demands on the amount of credits needed for general education classes. If you are unsure about what to major in when going into freshman year that student should take it upon him/herself and their advisor to take a wide range of topic to see which one suits them. If you know going into the fisrt year that you want to major in something that you feel is what you want to do there is no need for wasting all that time and money. I took around three full semesters worth of gen. ed. classes and looking back I wasted a lot of time and money. International politics, and physical geology along with many more were no where near needing for me to take it to handle a physical education class in the health room and on the gym floor. Along with the prices of things on the campus like books, clothing, food, and much more are way to expensive and then they take more from you for 2 years of un-needed classes.
